- The SAMS Photofact lists two models for above mentioned data sheets, RCA Victor model "New Orthophonic High-Fidelity" SHF3 and SHF3D, both with chassis RC-1168B. They are AC operated FM-AM receivers with 4 speed automatic record changer RC-205C-3 (RCA RP-205 Series, Photofact 358 folder 10. Details for the tube line up:FM-AM RF Amplifier 6CB6; FM AM Mixer-FM AM Osc. 6X8; FM AM IF Amp. 6BA6; 2nd FM IF Amp. 6AU6; FM Limiter 6AU6; Ratio Detector 6AL5; AM Det.-AVC-Record Amp. 6AV6; AF Amplifier 6CG7; AF Amp.-Phase Inverter 6CG7; AF Output 6V6GT AF Output 6V6GT; Tuning Indicator 6AL7GT and Power Rectifier 5Y3GT.
We don't know yet all differences between model SHF-3 and SHF-3D but they differ at least in the loudspeakers 3 and 4 - of the same size of 3.5". Speakers 1 and 2 show a size of 12". Also the Escutchean control knobs are different. On both, cabinet and parts can have different colors. Only the early versions of SHF-3 use the two line chokes. Part # 105685 is only used in model SHF-3D.
