Advertising from the Saturday Evening Post (circa 1925) speaks of a "controlled mica diaphram", "Thorite compound" for the horn, and a "Thorola synchronizer" that matches the speaker to the receiver. The later was likely a link and knob to adjust the gap at the magnet.
