- Notes
-
An article in the “Sydney Morning Herald” (NSW) on the April 3, 1950 describes a custom built 40 valve radiogram on show at the Sydney Royal Show.
The article stated; “But the biggest of all wireless sets in the Hordern Pavilion is a 40 Valve custom built model shown by the Reliance Radio Co. Priced between 400 and 500gns, it includes a home recording outfit, an automatic record changer, and is fitted for frequency modulation reception.”
It is likely that such a high-end unit had also shortwave reception.
