Battery is combined "balanced" Ever Ready B147, same four pin connector as B141, which is too large.
Unusually the filaments are switched Parallel to Series for AC Mains operation. There is a later similar chassis RGD B55 MkII in a plastic case. The Regentone Double Two is also a similar chassis to the B55 and B55 MkII as Regentone owned by RGD then.
Rexine style covering on plywood cabinet.
Economy switch reduces Battery LT consumption by 25mA and somewhat reduces HT consumption. It disconnects one of the DL96 Filaments.
Wavebands:
- LW 1150 ... 1875 m
- MW 187 ... 570 m
Warning: Chassis may be live when connected to mains. Use batteries or accurate bench LT (1.35V) & HT (80V) supplies for alignment.
Power line cord plug operates large spring loaded slide switch for mains/battery switching.
Battery compartment 250 x 40 x 90 mm (W x H x D), catalogue size for B147 is 254 x 38 x 70 mm. There is additional approx. 10 x 30 x 90 mm either side above bottom corner case structure posts.
