Elro is a brand name of Roos Electronics BV. The AB440S-CH is a wireless controlled switch that can be plugged directly into a Swiss Type J AC power outlet. When first plugged into the supply the switch is off, and it can subsequently be switched on or off by an AB440R remote controller or equivalent. Operating frequency 433.92 MHz. Maximum range 30-50 m.
5 DIP switches 1-5 located behind a small panel on the rear of the unit allow one of 32 system codes to be set to match the remote control. There are also 5 DIP switches A-E for selecting the unit code. Only one of the switches A-D should be switched on, to correspond with the 4 push switches A-D of the remote. The switch E is not used and should be switched off.Although the relay in the unit is rated 12 A 250 V AC, the unit is specified to switch up to 1000 W at 230 V. Only the live conductor is switched, the neutral and ground conductors being wired directly through to the output socket. The internal electronics draws about 23.5 mA from the mains supply whether the switch is off or on.
