Steemed Members,
If you observe the Ebay auction 280025888701, you can see a very particular Freiburg 8 radio that was TERRIBLY modified. Not only in the height of the cabinet and withdrawing the loudspeakers, also the height of the dial glass was reduced losing the LW band.
What can justify a great and aberrant surgery of those characteristics?
Best regards, Bruno.

Restoring my Freiburg 8 I found in the pre-amp EC92 a + 26 grid voltage. The plate and cathode voltage are normal. I have replaced the coupling capacitor and changed all the paper capacitors.
When I removing the EC92 I removes the pin 6 positiv voltage also. I have checked the B + and all the resistors in the output stage and they are good.
The Classical Radio repair books say that when one removes the tube and disappears the "grid" positive voltage is reasonable to suspect that the tube is faulty. The Valvo EC92 is good according my Mercury 2000 tube tester. I have changed it for an EC92 Lorenz and Siemens NOS and the problem persists.
nevertheless the radio has a beautiful sound.
I will thank some suggestion to remove this problem from my head.
respectfully, Bruno.
