This version of the Sanyo 14-H1 was factory modified for use in Australia and tunes the 10 then standard Australian VHF channels. It is possible that the particular example pictured was exported to Australia for evaluation, but the decision was made not to go ahead with exporting more. Supporting this is the serial number of the example pictured; 000001. This particular set uses a Sanyo branded 240 to 100 volt auto transformer, and has a live chassis. The metal case was not earthed originally, so safety concerns may have counted against it being accepted for import.
