  • The Silvertone model 4498 is the same as model 4499 but this model 4498 uses dry batteries and the model 4499 a 4 volt storage battery for the heaters. For details see schematic. It tells us that it has a "magnetic" speaker with approximate 1000 ohms DC resistance, but the Sears catalog tells us "It has a 6-inch Permanent Magnet-Dynamic Speaker, Ball Bearing Condenser, Automatic Volume Control, Personal Tone control." The schematic tells us as frequency range broadcast 540 - 1750 kHz.
