- The Silvertone model 5227 with chassis 528.33201 is a portable multi-band AM superheterodyne receiver for AC and battery operation with coverage: 0.190-0.410, 0.535-1.630, 1.9-6.25, 5.8-18.25MHz. Battery Operation: 9 volt "A" section for tube filaments, 90 volt B section for B+ voltage. Careful: There is a most similar model Silvertone 5227 with chassis 528.33200 for three power operation (AC/DC and battery). Look up also that model which has a different (oval) loudspeaker of 5" x 7" and maybe other small differences.

Hallo Freunde des RMorg.
Man liest oft, dass in USA alles doch recht einfach gebaut worden sei. Wegwerf _Ware !
Dieses Geraet: sears_roeb_silvertone zeigt da doch echte Ingenieurarbeit.
Das HF- Teil aufgebaut wie ein FS-Tuner. Der Bereich geht dabei nur bis 18Mhz.
Dazu den Langwellen-Bereich der in den USA und Canada auf den grossen Seen als Warn- und Navigations-Bereich dient.

Ich kenne die Zenith Geraete, diese Qualitaet haette ich eher nur dort erwartet.
Man lernt eben nie aus.
