The Silvertone model 6231 has an 5.25 inch Alnico-S speaker. The model 6231 receives broadcast 540 to 1700 kHz, plus three short wave spread bands; 9.4 to 9.7, 11.6 to 12.0 and 15 to 15.5 MHz. The cabinet is clear-grained walnut veneer. Triple tuned circuits, AVC, tro-position tone control. Two double purpose tubes (of 5 tubes), battery pack holds 900 hours. The Sears Midwinter Sampler Catalog 1947 offers this model 6231 for $ 37.88 instead of $ 39.90.
