    The number 1731 may relate to 1731 Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL., which was the manufacturing location for the Howard Radio Company.

    This chassis is similar to that of the Howard model 47-A.  The cabinets, dials, and control positions are different between the Silver-Marshall and Howard radios.
