The first Sony stereo hi-fi compact disc player, launched in Japan in October 1982, with remote control (RM-101) housed in a midi size black plastic case. CX-20017 16 bit linear Digital to Analogue Converter, KSS-100A laser pick-up block. RCA phono sockets for Line Output, Sync. Out jack (some models), Accessory Connector for future optional upgrades, Switched AC Outlet, Auto-Pause and and Antishock On/Off switches, 6.3 mm (¼ inch) jack for Headphones with volume level control.
