The Sony Digimatic 8FC-59W is one of the first alarm clock radios with "Flip-Mechanisme", "Folding Numbers" or "Drop Sheet Time Indicator". In 1965 "Cifra 3" with the same system was used as a simple flip-clock, built in Italy - but there are also probably earlier clocks since the system as such was already used many years before.
