  • Notes
  • The Adjust-A-Volt 500B is a variable autotransformer for voltages from 0-135 (with 115 VAC input).  Current rating is 7.5 amperes maximum for 1.0 KVA output. The unit is fused and contains a 6.3 volt pilot lamp.  This type of autotransformer is often called a Variac, a name originally trademarked by General Radio in 1934 but now a trademark of the Instrument Service Company.

This earlier model has a two-prong outlet with an adapter for a 3-prong jack with added safety ground. The supply cord has also been upgraded for a safer three-prong connection.
