  • The Stark model 9-55 is a portable tube tester. It appears there were several versions of this model. Both an early and a late version exist with and without the battery test function (see schematics). Another later version includes additional 7 and 9-tube miniature sockets.

    Some versions of this tube tester required the use of Stark tube adapters labelled W, X and Y while later versions had these sockets built into the tester itself. 

    This is one of the few testers that can test the Rogers AC20, AC32 (similar to Kellog 401), and the Rogers R-100 and Rogers R-200 rectifier tubes.  The Rogers AC20 and AC32 tubes will require construction of an adapter in order to test.  The tester will also test WD-11 and WD-12 tubes.
