  • AM/FM tuner with full redundancy and separate tuning (including separate tuning eye tubes) to allow simultaneous operation of AM and FM tuners for "Simulcast" stereophonic reception of two channels. Also includes connections for an FM multiplex adaptor. Solid state diodes for rectifier and FM ratio detector. Permeability-tuned FM front end.

    Although the SAMS Photofact folder for this unit has a date of August 1962, it seems possible that this unit was produced earlier, since the simultaneous AM + FM method of stereo broadcasting was introduced in the mid 1950s and was replaced by FM multiplex stereo starting in 1961.
