  • Model: Moving Coil Mirror Galvanometer No 1209/30. - Sullivan, H.W., London
  • Notes
  • Sullivan's Galvanometer. No 1209/30.

    Comprised of two parts.

A moving coil mirror galvanometer with two terminals and two spirit levels, mounted on a hardwood base. The assembly is covered by a brass tube with overall height 32cm and a diameter of 16cm.

A Large 52cm calibrated screen with an electrically illuminated collimator. The screen is adjustable in vertical and horizontal planes.

When galvanometer was connected to an electrical current the mirror would move relative the amount of current flowing and this would reflect a light beam onto the screen.

This type of galvanometer is typical of those used in the early transatlantic telegraph stations late 19th early 20th century
