  • Notes
  • The Type 524-D is a portable, self-contained cathode-ray oscilloscope specifically designed for maintenance and adjustment of television transmitter and studio equipment. With this oscilloscope, any portion of the television picture may be observed - from complete frames to small portions of individual lines. Any one of the 525 lines in the picture may be located and observed in minute detail. Accurate time markers greatly facilitate sync pulse timing. The wide-band vertical amplifier is provided with a network that may be switched in to limit the high frequency response to that specified by the F.C.C. for standardized
    VERTICAL DEFLECTION SYSTEM
Direct Coupled Amplifier, A 10MHz vertical amplifier with a maximum sensitivity of 0.15 V/cm direct coupled and 0.015 V/cm capacitively coupled provides an accurate presentation of the video signal. At sensitivities of 0.15 V/cm or lower the signal is fed into a cathode-coupled gain-control stage, then through the 0.25 uS delay network and into the push-pull driver stage. A cathode follower stage feeds the grid lines of the distributed Output stage. For the sensitivity ranges 0.015-0.05 V/cm and 0.05-0.15 V/cm a capacitively coupled 2 stage preamplifier is switched in.
