Thorn 3238 Tape Recorder
A four-track, three-speed tape recorder. Housed in cabinet covered in black leathercloth with silver-finished fittings. Black deck with brushed aluminium feature panels and chromium-plated controls. Storage compartment holds microphone, connecting lead and mains lead.
Features: tape speeds - 1⅞ ,3¾ and 7½ ips. Double tracking and other effects possible. Rewind time, 2½ mins. in either direction for 1200 ft. Reel diameter, 7" maximum.
Interlocking tape motion keys prevent accidental erasure. Record key automatically released when other is depressed (except pause) and cannot be operated while spooling. Latching pause key, first pressure latches key, second pressure releases, has the advantage when editing, key can be locked down and tape moved by hand to find exact spot required. Two fast motion keys, when slightly depressed, permit inching of tape backward or forward to find required position.
Powered accessory socket at rear of recorder, permits variety of accessories to be used; also provides power for transistor operated equipment.
