  • First russian radio receiver acting as a cathode detector. In 1916, russian engineer Bonch-Bruevich built the first russian radio lamp (cathode relay), called in russian - "Бабушка" (translation "grandmother"). According to the Russian army major military-technical board of the order in 1918 it was produced (100 units) Bonch-Bruevich design radio receivers using this Radio lamp.

    The receiver has been designed to receive fading oscillations 3000 - 8000 meters and unquenchable wave vibrations 890 - 8000 meter wave.

    This very rare Soviet radio receiving set, labeled serial number 1, is in Polytechnic Museum at Ukrainian National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute“ collection.
