This is the stereo version with a separate FM Stereo multiplex unit which plugs into the radio case.
This radio was available as option U79 for the 1972 Corvette at a cost of $283.35. The mono version, option U69, cost $178.00.
Of the 20496 1972 Corvettes produced, 7189 chose the stereo version while 19480 chose the mono.
