This is a United Wireless Telegraph (UWT) Co. (1906-1912) Anchor Gap for use in a spark transmitter used in wireless telegraphy. It preserves the aerial loop for the receiving tuner, prevents the aerial from grounding through the transmitting helix, while allowing the transmitter to put power to the aerial via the spark gaps of the Anchor Gap.
