This is a United Wireless Telegraph (UWT) Co. (1906-1912) Leyden Jar condenser for use in a spark transmitter used in wireless telegraphy. Normally, 10 to 12 Leyden Jars of this type were connected in a wooden rack to make up the high voltage condenser in the spark transmitter.
