The model 139 is a Chinese Military HF receiver, developed in late 60's. The type of radio used by Vietcong for guerrilla warfare in Vietnam jungle. It is powered by D cell battery, a battery compartment at the bottom of the radio: It is only a HF receiver, guerrilla used it to receive command to cordinate attack. Every small guerrilla cell would at least one of this back then. It works on HF frequency.
