- Notes
-
The M168 pocket radio was sold under several brand names, like ALLOYSEED, ALLOET, or VAKIND and features FM/FML, MW, and SW bands, and plays MP3 music files.
For specifications see the similar BJL-166. It is identical, except it misses the sleep timer.
The M168 succeeds the BJL-166 and the main difference is that the M168 uses an audio Class-F amplifier, introducing lots of noise in the MW and SW lower bands. The older BJL-166 uses a Audio IC set to Class-AB operation.
Brief technical details
The PCB assembly reference is "M168 2022-10-18"
The design is based around the same BK1198 DSP Mechanical tuning AM/FM/SW radio Mono audio (SOP16 package version), by BEKEN, as seen on the BJL-166 model.
Instead of the LTK5128D audio amplifier IC of the BJL-166, it uses a MIX2018A Class-F driving a 45mm 4 Ohm 3W speaker.
A custom CXX014B5C audio processor IC manages the radio and drives the LCD.
