Il ricevitore poteva essere alimentato a corrente di rete o a pile. Mentre tutti gli altri portatili avevano le pile all'interno e l'alimentatore esterno, l'Harvey contiene all'interno un alimentatore per c.a., mentre le pile sono alloggiate in un contenitore (stesso colore della radio) alloggiato in una borsa di cuoio, da portare a tracolla. il costo, all'epoca, dell'accessorio era di 8.000 lire.
Le connessioni con le pile avvengono automaticamente poggiando il ricevitore sulla base. Questa soluzione aveva il vantaggio di separare la radio dalle pile, evitando il danneggiamento in caso fuoruscita dell'acido per le pile scariche
