The Western Air Patrol model 38 is a 5-tube, 3-band radio. It receives BC (530-1750 kHz, black), Shortwave 1 (1.7-6.0 MHz, green), and Shortwave 2 (5.5-18 MHz, red) bands.
Somewhat unusually, it supports dipole antenna connections, but does not have antenna terminals on the chassis. Instead it has 3 antenna wires lead out from under the chassis that are color coded to their purpose. The colors are noted on a label inside the cabinet.
