The Wilcox-Gay tape recorder Recordio Imperial 686 is a reel-to-reel "stand-up" dual speed tape recorder machine with 6 loudspeakers. Speeds: 3 3/4 & 7 1/2. Remote control, tape index. The market introduction is not known by us yet, could be earlier than 1955. Ads with a reduced price of $ 169.50 can be found for 1957, together with dual speed models "Special" 632 with two speakers ($ 89.95) and "DeLuxe" 651 with 3 speakers ($ 119.95). But also still in 1958 there is an ad - with advanced new transistorized preamplifier for $ 179.97 - together with the new models 732 ($ 113.30) and 772 ($ 153.30).
