The earliest reference to the Oriole 7-D is from Radio Retailing in their 1926-27 table of set specifications, where they list it as a 5 tube set (with three variants). This reference is suspect as to the accuracy of the tube count. The Oriole 7-D chassis are likely only 6-tube sets as evidenced by existing labeled examples. There has yet to be a 5-tube Oriole 7-D chassis found to verify the Radio Retailing reference.
