  • Early in 1929 the Rudolph Wurlitzer Manufacturing Company took over the production of Lyric Radios. The text in the catalog 1930-1931 of "The James Bailey Company" is interesting: "In the combined plants of the All-American Mohawk Corporation and the Rudolph Wurlitzer Manufacturing Company, at North Tonawanda, New York, 93 % of the comlete LYRIC set is made. The same skill and workmanship that have made the mighty Wurlitzer organs famous is now responsible for the undisputed preëminence of LYRIC. Two hundred years of background and experience in the music indurstry enable this manufacturer to produce an outstanding radio such as the new 1931 LYRIC. ... " This model Lyric Umbrian 29 has only an other escutcheon than the "All-Marican Mohawk" model Lyric D29. It is a 4 legged console with a stretcher.
