  • The Zenith 6-S-27 is an AC operated 6 tube BC, SW and Police band receiver.

A year or two later, definitely in 1938, possibly in 1937, Zenith would use the "Y" suffix to denote ebony variants of their radios.  However, there is no evidence they did so in the 1936 model year.

Model 6-S-27Y use the same cabinet than models 6-V-27 and 6-VA-27. Differences you will find in chassis and wavebands. Model 6-S-27 is the same in brown wood.
