  • "Radio Nurse" (the receiver and speaker) and "Guardian Ear" (the transmitter  f = 300 kHz).  The Radio Nurse resembles the head of a nurse. Guardian Ear and Radio Nurse is a wireless intercom system introduced by Zenith in 1937 as a baby monitor, designed by Japanese-American artist and designer, Isamu Noguchi. The result was a stylized human nurse's head molded in brown Bakelite. The Radio Nurse was announced in the trade publication "Radio Today" in the March, 1938 issue.
