The company made photo electric cells for the De Vry Corporation (Movie projector manufacturers) and one known type was the CE2. (branded de Vry on the base).

Greetings.  What is the source of the information that links the Cetron tubes branded "DeVry" with a manufacturer of movie projectors?  I have seen smaller photoelectric tubes used in 16mm film projectors for reading audio tracks, but not the larger tubes.  I also have a DeVry branded tube in my collection which was salvaged from an adjustable photoelectric relay circuit intended for educational purposes (specificlly science classes), but I cannot find any connection to film, movie, or projector production.  Also, the logos on the tubes have a striking resemblance to the DeVry Technical Institute logo from 1953.  Note that the DeVry technical institute evolved from DeForest Training school and is now DeVry University.
Cordially,
Howard
