Dear friends,
I have just uploaded pictures of my 5-38 which is different in design that shows the picture here in RMorg. In John Slusser's Collector's Guide To Antique Radios there is a mention about 2 styles of 5-38. Should I suppose my 5-38 is an earlier design and was it made in 1925? I found escutcheons are close to 1925 production styles. Its chassis No is H 5495 and schematic is slightly different. I tried to find more information on internet with no success. Maybe our american colleagues answer this question.
Thanks

Hi Eduard,
There are indeed two front panel styles as can be found in Douglas: Radio Manufacturers of the 20's, vol.1.
Yours with the half moon dials is depicted in an ad in the Saturday Evening Post of February 1926, as "entirely new".
The other one is shown as being from September 1926.
