emerson: 547; 5 colours
emerson: 547; 5 colours
As far as I understand reading the announcement above, Emerson 547 collection has 5 different colour models :
It was photographed from a larger specifications sheet.
I recently uploaded in another thread (the 547 A tread) one photo of a white Emerson 547 A (I think I might say Amber).
After that I wonder if the other models, already posted, have also a letter to identify the colour ?:
Ex:
547 M - Marroon
547 G - Green
etc...
Or the A means only another model's version , not the colour ?
Best Regards
Mário

Emerson 547 (A) colors
There is no color suffix (rather unusual, since in USA mostly the color is coded somehow in the model number)
There is some mess in the available Emerson documentation:
1) there is a 547 and a 457A, but nowhere the difference is explained (Bunis/Slusser)
2) Tabletop Radios (Jet Age to Machine Age) calls only a 547 in 5 colors:
-black;
-marbled green/white;
-marbled tan/white;
-transparent blue;
-transparent red;
3)Your ad says for the 547:
-ivory;
-walnut;
-green;
-maroon;
-amber;
4) Beitman calls a 547A, Chassis=120050A, no color given;
5) Rider´s Perpetual says also 547A,Chassis=120050A;
the parts list calls only for an ivory cabinet as a spare part.
Now what ???
we shall leave it at the moment as it is and patiently wait for more (reliable !)information. We have both denominations, in case there are differences, ok.
The color business is somewhat mysterious too.

Emerson Radio announcement sheet
Thank You very much for your explanation.
I'm happy to know that I put my photo in its right place. (547A tread).
Of course the colour must be ivory. I made a mistake.
The announcement sheet seems to be reliable; it has an Emerson's logo at bottom.
I would like to send it all to Rmorg but I don't know how to reduce it to be accepted.
I'll send it to You by e-mail if You wish to.
PS: Also I saw in Master List of http://archives.radioattic.com/masterlist.htm :
547
547(1947) Jewett
547A Malin
547A Warren
Well I don't know what does it means ??????
Cordially
Mário

The master list of radio attic calls up the identified models and the name of the owner of the respective model (or the photo ?, I don´t know).
