grundig: 3035W/3D/USA;

            I have a 3035W/3D/USA that plays very well, but when it is first turned on AM broadcast it plays for a few seconds then the signal drops to almost nothing for a short time then comes back to normal and plays well. It does not do this on FM, if I play it on FM first,then go to broadcast it is OK,can anyone help me find the problem and correct it?   Thank you, Ross W. Hoff

Dear Mr. Hoff,

after I have looked at the schematic of the European version of this radio ( 3035/3 D ) I assume that there is a default in the AVC branch that connects the AM - diode with the steering grid of the ECH 81.So I would advise you to check the following items : C 49, R 10 and R 20.
