omgs: 777; Miny. Is this only a toy?

Hi,

i recently bought a 777 Miny tape recorder.

Today i am testing it and i see there is no capstan so the tape speed is absolutely random and changing.

Has someone more information about this strange device?

Was it only a toy?

have a look at the Stuzzi Memocord 304B device or other similar devices.
These are Dictaphones which are simply built without capstan.
There is the constant velocity not so important, since mainly language is recorded.

you are right: the Miny 777 was probably  designed as a dictaphone.

When i bought it there was a Geloso music tepe inside.

Playing that tape was terrible, but now i tested it recording my voice and, as a dictaphone, is good.
