Hello,

I have a Philips VE1306/04 tube amp. I am going to replace filter caps. Two times 25uf+25uf 385V. I only can find 33uf+33uf in local shop. Is it possible to use it instead of 25uf+25uf?

Regards

Cgursel

The specific rectifier-valve restricts the maximum capacity for the electrolyt.

This value can be found in an electronic valva databook.

Nominal values on electrolytic capacitors often are not very precise.

A nominal 25 microfarad item could be about 33 micofarads in reality.

Hello

This amplifier uses a selenium rectifier. So using a 2 x 33 uF electrolytic will be fine.

Concerning selenium rectifiers please note specially post 4 of Mr. Knoll in the link

Kind regards, Walter Haring
