Made in Japan

Dear Zenonas,
as to be seen on the label: "Made in Japan".
"Watson" is not a manufacturer!
The code "508" may help to identify the real manufacturer of this "Watson"-branded radio. See the discussion about Japanese manufacturer codes.
"220V" on the label indicates that this model is not "actual retro product" as the mains voltage is now 230V.
For dating the model please check date codes on parts (as you was also told in an other forum ;-)
"Watson" branded models see here.
The standard procedure is to register a model first before asking :->
Best Regards
Georg

Watson 280 identical to Sanwa 6090

Hallo Zenonas,
this set is a typical cheap digital display shortwave receiver made in Japan around 1978/80, it has been sold under different labels/brands, some from large department stores.
I have one set labelled as Sanwa 6090 DF, the set has also been sold as Miramo 6090.
Externally and technically, these sets have a similar appearence as a much-downgraded Panasonic shortwave set, also the Pan Crusader sets might come from the same corner in Japan. (Similar controls, similar operation scheme, especially the fluorescent frequency display with a calibration control that shifts the displayed frequency).
Kind regards Martin
