Hello
I'm restoring a Schaub Lorenz Savoy 59 Radio, consider replacing some old capacitors and have a question about radios' electrolytic capacitor C82. The capacitor is connected in shematics and by a multimeter in real radio hardware with its positive terminal to ground. Could somebody explain the purpose of this capacitor and why it has been/should be installed in this way? I have usually seen electrolyte capacitors to be installed with negative terminal to ground. The ratings for the cap are 3uF and 70/80V.

Problem Solved
Hi all
I found a test point terminal from the back of the radio that gives an approximate voltage near the negative terminal of the capacitor. It seems to decrease roundly at -30V DC when listening FM channels and received signal strenght is strong. On weak or no signal it rises near zero volts. So now the installation orientation of the capacitor makes sense to me. I think it is propably a low pass filter capacitor that eliminates unwanted noise/smoothes the signal. Initially I was in thought the voltages inside the radio can only be between 0V and ~280V that the power supply diode rectifier provides.
