schaub: Schaub Lorenz T20 (T 20); Touring

Hi -  Can someone tell me what is the purpose of the battery st-201?  Mine has leaked. Do I need to replace it?  Thanks, John.

Dear John,

This is to supply bias voltage to a number of the stages and you do need to replace it with a 1.4 volt long life battery.  It is switched off with the main power switch. 

Without it, the set will not perform very well - or at all!

To clean up any leakage on the circuit board, I find that cotton buds are good to get off the deposit, dampened in water if necessary.
