Dear Collector friends,

I have recently introduced a collector friend here in England to the Tefifon; as he is a collector of record players and radiogramophones, he is fascinated by this unique device. Although the machine he has (mod. KC1) seems to work reasonably well, he asked me if it is possible to replace the pickup/stylus in this unit, should it be necessary? I know some models were built using a Ronette (?) SK451 pickup, but this one has the basic open crystal assembly.

Any information will be gratefully received as the Tefi is virtually unheard of here in England, apart from a few of us prepared to look beyond our own shores...

Regards,

Mike.

Dear Mike,

I am in contact with a Tefi specialist who told me that the Ronette system is from the market. No chance to replace it . One could fit a small pickup(for turntable).

Ronette replacement stylus : he still has a few and he would supply one or two to You.

Original (open) system: There is somebody who makes the repair job, but that wouldn´t be cheap. With his permission I could get the address.

Both of a.m. people are not (yet) RMorg members. At least the Tefi specialist is planning to join, but he is extremely busy and suffering from time shortage. Lets see...

Kind regards
Konrad
