  • The Hustler, Simpson & Webb Double Two battery receiver has 2 valves, a detector, with reaction and an output stage. It is housed in a metal outer case with a bakelite front, the size of a box camera. The two 'two-in-one' valves are marked with '22' logos as on the bakelite front. There are four sockets on the front marked 1, 2, 3 and Off ; when a plug attached to an aerial is pushed into socket 3, the long-wave coil is connected, when pushed into sockets 1 or 2 medium-wave coils are connected and when pushed into the socket marked "off", the LT and HT supplies are cut off and the aerial is earthed. Coverage Medium Wave 250-500m, Long Wave 1000-1800 m. For use with headphones.
