• The Akai M10 was a stereo quarter-track auto-reverse totally solid-state tape recorder with three motors (3-speed hysteresis capstan motor, two outer rotor reel motors), three playing speeds and a maximum spool size of 7" - It had three heads (erase, record/play and one for the Crossfield bias system ).
