  • Form
  • Tischgerät ohne Drucktasten, bis 35 cm Breite (Kleingerät, meist dekorativ. Nur für Netzbetrieb, doch Transportgriff möglich).
  • Bemerkung
  • AWA produced a series of Bakelite Empire State radios between 1934 and 1938.

    Radiolette models R28, R29, R30, R31, R31A, R32,  R37, R37A, R37B, R37C & Radiola  R48 &  R48G.

Empire State was not the official AWA name for the classic Art Deco Bakelite Radiolette but due to their popularity among worldwide collectors they are now known colloquially as the AWA Radiolette, Empire State Series of radios.

    Chassis:
5 valve, reflexed superhet with an IF of 175 kHz.

    • The chassis was deeper and did not require the wooden plinth.
    • The chassis had removable ends.
    • Component s rearranged under the chassis with the introduction of tag strips.
    • The tuning gang was mounted on rubber mounts and earthed with braid.
    • A "local-distance" switch at the rear of the chassis is provided for reducing overload in strong signal areas.
    • The chassis was also used in the Bandmaster 657ME.

CAUTION! Asbestos is used as a heat shield to line one side of the can holding the two B+ capacitors.

    Cabinet:
This Model 37 was only available in Black with versions 37A in Walnut, 37B in Ivory and 37C in Jade Green.

Previous versions had an open back and this was the first version with a screw on back cover made from the same material and colour as the cabinet.

This Radiolette’s Art Deco Bakelite cabinet design was modelled on the wooden version AWA  Radiolette, Model 27 except with a square dial. Earlier Air King in the US designed models along these lines in 1933 with the Skyscraper 52.
