    Developed by AWA in conjunction with the Australian Army, R.E.M.E. (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) after intensive trails and testing in Australia and the jungles of Malaysia in the early 1950’s

    Consisting of two packs, transmitter and receiver connected via a cable for voice or CW transmission. The set can be used as a one man-pack station on the move, in a vehicle or as a ground station. The transmitter and receiver are separate, hermetically sealed units which are carried in two special web pouches. The equipment is powered from dry batteries with a continuous transmission life of 14 hours with the ratio of 1 hour transmit to 5 hours receive.

    Receiver:

    • 5 valve reflexed superhet with RF Stage.
    • Two Bands: 2.0 – 4.5MHz and 4.5 – 10.0MHz
    • Valves: 1T4 RF Amplifier, 1R5 Converter, 1T4 IF Amplifier, 1T4 Reflex IF and AF Amplifier, 1S5 Demodulator and Hetrodyne Oscillator.

    Transmitter:

    • 4 Valve, crystal controlled Transmitter
    • Frequency 2 – 10MHz, Crystal controlled
    • Valves: 1T4 Modulator and Audio Oscillator, 3A4 Crystal Oscillator, and two 3A4’s as RF Output Power Amplifier.

    Supplied with headset, telegraph key, rod and wire aerials

    The Wireless Set was also used by the British Army
