  • Bemerkung
  • The Lektrokit prototyping system includes a range of hardware items for the rapid breadboarding of electronic circuits, primarily using miniature all-glass valves and discrete transistors and ICs. The components and the wiring are supported by 14.3 mm long tinned soldering pins (Part No. LK-3011) that taper from 0.06" to 0.05" in diameter. These pins are pressed into insulating chassis plates that are predrilled with 0.055" diameter holes on a 0.1" grid. A typical chassis plate (No. 4, Part No. LK-141) measures 4" x 4.75" and has 35 x 40 = 1,400 holes. In addition to other components such as a tag strip (Part No. LK-2231), an edge connector could be attached to the chassis plates to allow them to be plugged into a rack. Aluminium chassis plates were also available that are punched with 266 0.125" diameter holes. Some versions of the metal chassis plates are also punched with larger holes for components such as valve holders.

The system also includes rails to allow four chassis plates to be mounted in a row, and mechanical parts to allow the completed assembly of four plates to be housed in a cabinet. The parts include a light grey painted front panel (Part No. LK-401), as well as side plates, and ventilated and unventilated top, bottom and rear panels. Diecast lugs can be attached to the side panels to allow the completed cabinet to be mounted in a 19" rack. All the required fasteners were supplied with the cabinet components.

The Lektrokit parts were manufactured and finished to a high standard. The system became progressively obsolete with advances in LSI microelectronics and the advent of inexpensive printed circuit services.
