  • Anotaciones
  • The Arvin 517C is an AC operated 5 tube BC and SW band receiver.

The models 517 and 527 share the same chassis - with suffix "B" they are battery sets with a different chassis but using the same cabinet as the same without the "B". There are 3 known versions of the AC powered 517 models:

517 Rhythm Junior (Early) - Front mounted speaker without vertical bars over speaker
517 Rhythm Junior (Late) - Front mounted speaker with vertical bars over speaker
517C Rhythm Junior - Top mounted speaker with bars over speaker

The Arvin model 517 Rhythm Junior with 6 3/16 inch dial covers 545 - 171 meters (550 - 1750 kc = incl 1600 to 1700 police bands) and 16.65 - 52.6 meters (5.7 - 18 mc). One electro dynamic speaker 6 inch. 2-gang condenser, 2-point tone control. Cabinet in rich-grained walnut in combinations with pencil-striped mahogany and satin wood.

Rider's shows that the chassis has been published 1936 (or before) but this version is not on the catalog 1937 of The Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Co. but instead contains the "late" version that has the front mounted speaker with three vertical bars.
