  • Annotazioni
  • The model Arvin 578B farm radio has a chassis with two knobs above each other, one in the center of the scale. There is a picture in the 1937 Arvin 4-paged flier "New 1938 Arvin Radios" which emphasizes on the "Phantom Filter Circuit" (see also "Life" October 18th 1937) and in ads on "ten years of radio progress". The flier pictures 3 farm radios including this one which is only called "two-tone Arvin 2-volts table radio". The text for farm radios tells us: "The Arvin line of Farm Radios includes 7 smartly styled models, 2 consoles and 2 table radios operating from 2-volt A batteries and 90-volt B batteries, 1 console and 2 table models operate from one 6-volt 150-ampere hour storage battery.

The place of the knobs can also be seen on the two chassis drawing at Rider's Arvin 10-10 under Noblitt-Sparks. In the book "Machine Age to Jet Age, volume II" by Mark Stein is a picture on page 67 which is in error - because it shows two knobs below the scale, side by side, and a speaker grille in front, while the correct model has the speaker placed at the left wall of the cabinet. When we know the correct model, we will link here to that correct model page.
