  • The Astatic Corporation, Conneaut, Ohio anounces production of a new, low-priced miniature (crystal) microphone, model 54M3. This is a high output unit and non-directional when mounted in its base. The top grille is a circular metal stamping, one and three quarters inch in diameter and one half inch deep, with gold plate finish. Housing and handle are combined in a single die cast unit, finished in dark chocolate brown baked enamel. A die cast desk base with rubber feet is standard equipment. Furnished with five feet of rubber covered, single conductor shielded cable and protector sleeve at microphone. The model 54M3 is recommended for recorder, PA, conference and other uses. Its response (30 to 10,000 cycles per second) is flat to 1000, gradually rising to 6000 cps.
